Positions Currently Available in Houston:

  • Kayak Guide: There are two types of kayak guides; an assistant guide and a full guide. Regardless of your position, you are responsible for making sure the customers have a fun time on the water and a safe time.
    • Description: Kayak Guides are responsible for assisting customers, carrying boats, taking pictures, towing boats, and much more. Full Guides also rely on their vast knowledge of the history and their ability to educate their customers.
    • Requirements:
      • Acquiring Basic First Aid and CPR within two weeks of employment
      •  Heavy lifting is required. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
      • You must be able to demonstrate a vast knowledge of paddling and the history of Houston. (This is a requirement to move from an assistant guide to a full guide)
    • Compensation:
      • Compensation is up to $10/hr. depending on certifications and experience
  • Dock Hand: The Dock hand is an important position. This is great for all ages and fitness levels. 
    • Description: The dock hand is responsible for loading and unloading customers into boats and or paddle boards. They are responsible for fitting customer with proper life jackets and the general order and safety over everyone. 
    • Requirements:
      • Acquiring Basic First Aid and CPR within two weeks of employment.
      • Must have a great attention span and be able to multi task without distraction.
    • Compensation:
      • Compensation is up to $10/hr. depending on certifications and experience
  • Boat Loaders: This is a great position for someone who is just looking for a part time or full time hours. 
    • Description: The boat loaders are responsible for carrying boats from the water to the trailers. Their main objective is to make sure the guides have a chance to recover after their paddle to prepare for the next tour.
    • Requirements:
      • Acquiring Basic First Aid and CPR within two weeks of employment.
      • Heavy lifting is required. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds over and over again.
    • Compensation:
      • Compensation is up to $10/hr. depending on certifications and experience
  • Shuttle Driver: The shuttle driver is the key to making everything run smoothly.
    • Description: Shuttle drivers will travel up and down the paddle trails assisting customers load their boats onto the trailers. They will transport customers and their boats to the various put in and take out spots along the paddle trail.
    • Requirements:
      • Acquiring Basic First Aid and CPR within two weeks of employment.
      • You must have a clean driving record and have the ability to demonstrate proper motor vehicle operations with a trailer.
      • Some lifting is required. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
      • Minimum age is 25 years old
      • CDL is preferred but not required.
  • Weekend Receptionist: The receptionist is the source for many customers to find happiness outdoors.
    • Description: Handle inbound calls and emails. Respond to customer questions and assist individuals and groups in booking their outdoor fun. The receptionist will also be responsible for filing and data entry.
    • Compensation:
      • Compensation is up to $10/hr. depending on certifications and experience
  • Cashier: The Cashier is the first point of contact at several of our rental locations. The cashier is responsible for checking in customers, filling out paperwork, and collecting payment for rentals. The cashier is a happy outgoing people person with a smile. 
    • Compensation:
      • Compensation is up to $10/hr. depending on certifications and experience

Positions Currently Available in Freeport, TX: (FREEPORT IS CLOSED UNTIL SUMMER 2017)

  • Dock Hand: The Dock hand is an important position. This is great for all ages and fitness levels. 
    • Description: The dock hand is responsible for loading and unloading customers into boats and or paddle boards. They are responsible for fitting customer with proper life jackets and the general order and safety over everyone. 
    • Requirements:
      • Acquiring Basic First Aid and CPR within two weeks of employment.

  • Gear Transport Driver: The transport driver is the key to the operation. This is a contracted position where you can drive your own vehicle to tow a trailer to and from the storage lot to the waterfront. The transport Driver can also be a dock hand to earn more money.
    • Requirements:
      • Acquiring Basic First Aid and CPR within two weeks of employment.
      • Must have a vehicle that can tow up to 7,000 pounds.
      • You must have a clean driving record and have the ability to demonstrate proper motor vehicle operations with a trailer.
      • Some lifting is required. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
      • Minimum age is 25 years old
      • CDL is preferred but not required.

Positions Currently Available in Surfside Beach: (No More Openings until SUMMER 2017)

  • Beach Rental Operator: This is a great position for someone that lives close to Surfside Beach or doesn't mind driving to the beach daily. 
    • Description: This person will handle all beach rentals of surfboards, stand up paddle boards, and more.
    • Requirements:
      • Acquiring Basic First Aid and CPR within two weeks of employment.
      • Must be able to maintain a professional appeal amongst all the fun beach guests.
      • Great attention to detail as you will be required to stay alert and watch over everyone!!!
    • Bonus: You get to be on the beach all day!
    • Compensation:
      • Compensation is up to $10/hr. depending on certifications and experience

 

  • Surfing Instructor: The Bayou City Adventures surfing instructors are some of the best around. The ability to get all skill levels to the point where they are confident enough to stand on a surfboard is not something that is taken lightly.
    • Description: This person will be responsible for all surfing students. They will give lessons in surfing and stand up paddle boarding on ocean waves.
    • Requirements:
      • Acquiring Basic First Aid and CPR within two weeks of employment.
      • Must be able to maintain a professional appeal amongst all the fun beach guests.
      • Must be able to pass our rigorous Ocean Level 2 Training Course.
      • Must be able to educate all skill levels on how to properly surf.
      • Must be willing to learn the BCA way or training and use it every time.
      • Must be able to demonstrate proper wave selection and timing of when to place students into the wave.
      • Great attention to detail as you will be required to stay alert and watch over everyone!!!
    • Bonus: You get to be on the beach!
    • Compensation:
      • Compensation is up to $10/hr. depending on certifications and experience.
